This was my first apartment. Before we signed the lease they told us it was dog friendly which was great and that they replace the carpet before anyone moves in so its nice and new. Sounds like a great place! I lived there for about 11 months. During those months I had 2 leaks in the ceiling from rain, I could hear everthing up stairs from our neighbors, the windows are very loud when it rains, and the apearance is cheap for what we paid.
We decided to get a dog. Before we had a chance to let them know the security guard told me my grass area was not dog friendly so I left and went inside. He than at 10:30 at night banged on my back door and told me my apartment was not dog friendly. I called the office and they treated my like a clueless child. They said I had to break the lease and move out asap. I did to help the process. After my inspection they said I needed to replace the rug because it had stains for almost my whole months rent deposit. I told them I was going to try to clean it and they said fine. I went in the next day and someone came in while I was at work and sliced my rug with a knife. They dinied everything. I came home from work and the rug that was sliced was reaplced with a new peiece with a coffee stain.
I made a police report and I talked with an attorney. I got some good advice and proved them wrong about the rug. I received 100% of my sercurity deposit back. I can just amagine how many other people they have done this too. I paid rent on time every month and I had no complaints. The management is only nice when you send them a demand letter with evidence that they are scamming YOU. If you have a good lawyer this place is for you if not KEEP LOOKING!!

MMM Interesting. If they try to keep my security deposit because of the rug I will try the same thing :) The rugs here are very thin and only worth about 200-. Cheap, cheap rugs! Why white? Cause they know you will stain it and then they can make a profit by charging you for replacing it.

If you would like to know what I did to get it back let me know. I don't want to see anyone else get scammed.

They charged us $1600 to replace rugs we didn't damage and $400 for a wall repair that we didn't do anything to. We're fighting them for our money back right now.
