it is a different story when you move out though...

To be frank, we had a great time living at Avalon Summit until we move out.
I guess it is common that business people just want your business, and when you are leaving, who cares about you'
Be super careful about the moving out policies, and you have to really push them to process your deposit back quickly. We didn't receive our deposit back until 6 weeks after we moved out. After visiting in person and emails and phone calls talking to the guys who processed our case, we eventually received a check - without any explanation or detailed breakdown, the deposit was deducted by a huge amount. When we contacted the guy, he explained the moving out policy which states once we leave, they have the discretion to decide how much to charge for any damage. First of all, the damage he was talking about was just some stains on the carpet, including some light blue color where we used to have a small rug. I absolutely don't believe that requires them to replace the carpet; Secondly, I actually read the policy, it says they will do a pre-walk inspection before people move out, and at the time of moving out, there could be a move out inspection. Obviously, they didn't do the inspection at all before and when we moved out although we requested. The guys only followed the policy that is in favor of their interests. Also we left our contact information and asked to be informed if there would any deduction, but no notification coming only charges.
It was very frustrating although he did apologize for what happened. I hope everyone else living there doesn't have to go through the same thing as we did - this is the purpose of me saying all these. Be careful when you are moving out, insist on an inspection just in case...
BTW, as written in the previous review, Darlene absolutely IS the best there, I believe our case would have been handled much better and professionally if it was in her hand. Consider yourself lucky if you are dealing with her and receiving her superior services...
Other comments:
1. the parking lot was renovated which resulted in a huge rain/snow draining problem - one side of the parking lot will be full of water when raining.
2. Our car's fog lights were stolen while parking in the parking lot.
