I lived at Avalon Summit from Oct 2004 - Oct 2005. The only reason I moved was that I wanted to get a dog, otherwise I would have stayed. It was fairly quiet. On occasion, you could hear people open and close doors, but I rarely heard neighbors talking or their TVs blasting. My only complaint with noise is that if you opened windows for fresh air, the traffic noise was pretty loud, which was weird because the street isn't really that busy. Another complaint I have was food smells! I constantly could smell Chinese food. To this day, I cannot eat Chinese food because of it. I also agree with one reviewer about the hallways smelling like smoke! Yuck! It's nice to have laundry on each floor (2 washers/2 dryers), and only occasionally did I have rude neighbors who left their clothes in one or the other too long. The staff was great! Little things that they do actually mean a lot, like they regularly change heating/ac filters for you. They also called me once a month, just to see how things were going. I've never had that before. When I moved out, I received my full deposit, plus interest. I am a neat freak, though, so the place was as clean as it was when I moved in, plus it was just me living there. As far as amenities, I didn't take advantange of things like garage, pool, or the fitness room. I lived at 290 Quarry St, so our building didn't have a fiteness room, and even though it was just down the street, I was too lazy to go! :-) My only other comment would be that I wish they would have had a shuttle to the T. It's $3/day to park at the T. I moved to Arlington, and I hate it! Quincy was much more convenient. My "new" place is more expensive and really old (built in the 1850s). I can have a dog, but the trade off is lots of spiders, centipedes, old radiators, and no AC.
