Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006
Nothing great but not horrible either. I rented a one bedroom from 2005 to 2006. Here are some of the PROS:
1.compared to other complexes in the area the apartments are fairly large with good size kitchens
2. new paint, carpet and flooring in kitchens and bathrooms
3. fairly convenient location on bus route
4. Price-Competitive with other apartments in area and includes heat and hot water which is a big plus
5. At least from my experience the maintenance guys were always friendly and prompt.
The CONS:
1. Bugs-honestly, I saw more silverfish in one year than I think I'd ever seen in my life...they were everywhere, in bedroom closet, bathroom, kitchen, etc. Complained to office many times. They claimed they would put me on a frequent bug spraying list but they never really went away. Also, saw a cochroach once or twice as well as some creepy furry looking centerpede things in the bathroom on a few occasions.
2. Crime-My car was stolen from literally 10 feet from the rear door of my building about 2 months after I moved in. Told the office and they were basically like "Oh, that's terrible". ( According to the lease they are supposed to have overnight patrolls) Also, according the police logs cars seem to get stolen from the parking lots more than occasionally.
3. Apartment Lobbies and Hallways-The hallways are poorly lit, smell disgusting and look like they haven't been recarpeted/repainted since about 1979. Trash and newspapers were constantly thrown around lobby ( I fault the tenants more than the management on this one)
4. Towing Policy- For some reason this complex is obsessed with towing cars that are not properly parked. I can understand occasionally towing a car or two if they are blocking a handicap entrance or something but this place takes it to extremes. Every night at 12:00 there was a towtruck looking for cars not parked in spaces etc.
Overall, This could be a really nice place if the management put a little more time and money into fixing it up and addressing the issues. Maybe eventually they'll do this but for now I wouldn't recommend it-there a much better alternatives in Quincy.
