NOT "fair housing"...

Hall Place is a nice building, if you enjoy loud neighbors, no feeling of security & a low class environment. When you pull up to the building you feel the disrespect of the resident population on the property. The dumpster is overflowing with garbage. Laundry is being hung to dry on the balconies. Children are screaming & parents are screaming louder. Cars are broken down in the lot & remain there for weeks. Residents are always "hanging out" on the front steps. It is discouraging to go to work each day to earn an honest wage, to afford the $1400 a month rent, when you know darn well your neighbors are part of the "fair housing" Section 8 and are paying $80 a month for the same apartment. The difference is, you are not home to ruin it all day, like they are. They treat it like a freebie, not like something worked for & earned. They sit around all day & make an uncomfortable environment for non-Section 8 people to live in.
The building is also noisy b/c you are right on the main street & have a scrap yard in front of the buliding crushing cars & running heavy machinery all day and night. Heavy traffic area.
Office staff is supportive, but not at the building on a regular basis. Yes, phones are forwarded... I can't say that I blame the staff for not wanting to be in the building! Who would want to'
All in all, I give Equity a thumbs up. They are a great cooperation & they employ a great staff. As far as Hall Place is concerned... it is run down & full of people who do not care about their surroundings. They take no pride in where they live. Period. So save your hard earned money. ( What you have left in your check that is, after paying high taxes to pay for your neighbor's rent!! ) Look elsewhere. You can find a clean, noise free and higher class area to live for the same money, if not less!
As a side note,.. I am not someone who feels that I am better than others, as another person was referred to. I feel as though, you get out of somthing what you put into it. I like a quiet, clean, higher class apartment community. I do not enjoy noise, filth and low class behavior. Sorry!
