I totally agree with all the other reviews posted here. Mike is a total ass hole and that is a nice description. He is so nice when he shows you his nasty, dirty, outdated, smelly apartments just to get your business. He only does a minimum to clean when someone moves out. Walls have not been painted in years, carpets are like 60s or something, kitchens are so small that one person at a time is too many in a kitchen. Once he has your signature on his contract he changes his nice tune and talks down to you like he is God or something. Do not underestimate the noise factor. His apartments are loud and he has at least 3 buildings that I know off out of which all of them are pretty bad. Maintenance at his properties (I think) does not exist. Any time you call with a request to fix something, he never sends any one or simply does not reply to you if you leave him a v-mail. For the money his asks for his dirty, never cleaned apartments, you can get much more somewhere else. He also charges for parking even though there is a plenty of it around his buildings. The laundromat service in his buildings are limited to only one or two washers and dryers for 40-50 apartments in each building and as you can imagine they are always taken by someone so the wait time is long to wash your clothes.
All he cares about is your money. Shoveling the snow during winter is also an issue.
DO NOT RENT from him or you will regret your decision

I'm glad others are on the same page as I am with regards to Mike. I was sold on the promise of a very quiet apartment. I told him that I have little tolerance for stomping, but I hear it everyday! I've got elephants above me. He just dismissed me and my complaints. According to him,I'm the problem. He claims it's impossible to hear sounds from the above apartment, because of the concrete. BS!!! Terrible! Also, when it's time to renew the lease,he doesn't even offer a form to sign or to reject. He assumes you're staying. Look elsewhere people.

Yes be careful of his "automatic renevable leases". Make sure that you do not miss your deadline or he will make your life a living hell. Even if you late by a day to tell him that you are not staying and you will count your last month's rent already given to him as "paid already" he will insist more money from you. If you dont give it to him he will give you 2 weeks to move out regardless if you paid your rent on time or not; and regardless if you gave him 2 months, 2 days or 2.5 months of notice. He does not care. If you dont move he will make threats that he will open a case against you in the housing court and report you to credit agencies. Anyway... My advise to you, watch for that date on your lease if you dont want an unnecessary bad treatment from Mr. Mike the fat ass as he will treat you like ---- because he is GOD. When that heppened to me I was tempted to fight him in the housing court but it was not worth the hasle to prove that I was right and he was wrong over a few days left in the month. Rude and nasty - bottom line. Dont rent from him.

Self extending leases are actually illegal in some areas, I discovered. At anyrate, just be careful and acknowledge the deadline on the lease. My time with Heritage could have been better, but it was still much better than where I lived before. Always read and discuss your lease.
