I have lived in Lincoln Heights for 3.5 years and plan to renew my lease for a 4th year. As I read the reviews, I was surprised by some of the negative experiences people have reported. My experience here has been entirely positive. I think that if you are the kind of person with a low threshold for apartment living in general -- you will find somethings to complain about. Rental communities in general sometimes have security and nasty neighbor issues, but overall I am extremely pleased with the Lincoln Heights community.
The apartment is nice -- I have a balcony, in apt. washer and dryer, private outside storage, a fireplace, dishwasher and garbage disposal -- vaulted ceilings and alot of closet space. On site there is a small gym with locker room and jacuzzi -- sometimes the stuff is broken but it always seems to get fixed quickly. The maintenance crew is fantastic -- things are fixed instantly. When my washer broke, I was offered the opportunity to accept a reconditioned unit from another apartment immediately or wait for a brand new unit to arrive in two days. The installation of the new unit was fast and it works wonderfully.
I absolutely never hear any noise -- sometimes barking dogs, and occasionally I smell some cooking but it is not an issue to me --
There is a ton of parking, and I have never ever had a problem parking at anytime of the day or night. The hallways are regularly shampooed and the property is beautifully landscaped. Very convenient -- right off of 93 South -- 20 minutes into Boston -- 40 minutes into Providence.
The main reason I moved here from Manhattan was because I have dogs -- 4 of them -- and they have been welcomed here. Most of the tenants have dogs -- which is a big plus for me, and unfortunately, alot of the dog owners are remiss in picking up after their dogs - which is a shame because they jeopardize the dog friendly status of the building. There is an enclosed dog run -- with a small pond -- on the property where dogs can play unleashed.
The rent is pricey but much cheaper than Boston proper -- I pay 1564 for a premium one bedroom with a vaulted ceiling and fireplace 75 pet fee with two modest rent increases. I started at 1450 3 years ago.
If you are overly picky and critical you will find something wrong with the place -- but if you are easygoing and laid back, you will love it here. If you have pets, this place is a dream come true.
