Stay Away.

Just a note. I actually lived across the street in Faxon Commons when I decided on a Change. The rent was much cheaper at Presidential and I took a chance. I was given a tour of a VERY nice model apartment, and then I was told that the vacant apartment that I was to rent would be the same in layout. I asked if I could see it, and I was told that if I placed a deposit to hold it, I could see it a week before my move-in date to make sure everything was okay.

I accepted the terms. A week before my move-in date, I arrived and saw the apartment with another representative from the Managing Office.

The apartment that was to be mine was a disaster. The Ceiling leaked from the rain (you could see the stains running down the walls), the Wall behind the bathtub was rotted out (the office staff member told me they would put up new board and it would be fine -- which, noting the damage this was impossible since the rot had to dry out before anything could be done and it would be a home for mold and mildew), the closet doors were rusted shut, and the outlet covers were broken and hanging. The circuitry was loose.

At that time, I asked for my deposit back and was told in no uncertain terms, "no way!" I was told that I couldn?t back out with losing my $200 deposit, because only if the apartment wasn?t ready on my move-in date would there be an issue. Noting the damage, I knew that it would not be ready and then I wouldn?t have a place to live.

I told them I would go to my attorney, and they said go right ahead the money is ours!

I was then told by the woman who originally told me that I could see the apartment a week before that she never said that.

I might have been out of $200, but at least I didn?t get myself roped into a lease with a classless and lying organization (managing staff). Sometimes, it?s worth the dollars to learn.

P.S. I did know someone that I worked with who lived there and he was very unhappy.

STAY AWAY!
