I moved to Overlook Ridge in May of 2005. It began well, but has gotten much worse with every month. The good things: Great location to get to downtown (I work downtown, it takes me about 15 minutes during rush hour), flashy - it will impress your friends when they come over, and they have been quick to respond to maintenance requests.
On the negative side, we'll start with the management. The intelligence level inside the leasing office combines to be just a little dumber than my bath towel. Simple questions boggle their mind. We got emails three days in a row telling us we had a package (you can only receive larger packages on their time, and only if they feel like helping you). Each time we went to pick it up, we were told that not only did we not have a package, they didn't appreciate us wasting their time. We will get harshly worded letters on our doors telling us that large pieces of trash are to go only in the dumpster, and then while taking trash to the dumpster, will get threatened with a fine by a maintenance guy if we don't put it into the trash chute (which the letter said specifically not do do).
The running joke between my wife and I is to guess what new way a member of the staff will be rude and inconsiderate to us each time we need to visit the office. Don't expect anyone in this office to go out of their way to help you. Just getting them do do their job is a stretch. Once you sign a lease with them, they know they have your money (and a lot of it) and the customer service ends right then and there.
The place seems secure enough... until you realize that the doors supposed to have the electromagnetic locks on them, don't latch, and you can walk right in. Not to worry though, once that's fixed, just stand at the front door late at night, and the helpful security guard will let you in with no questions asked. Over the course of a couple hours in the club room one night, we watched him let every single person that came to the door into the building without them having to call any apartment or get any resident approval. Meanwhile, when someone is locked out of their apartment or a "reserved" parking space has someone else's car in it, this guy is of no help whatsoever.
Amenities are nice, although they "close" early in the evening so unless you get home from work on the apartment's time, you're pretty much out of luck on using them. They almost dare you to rent out any of their "special" rooms like the conference room or movie theater. There's no request they won't deny - and without explaination I might add. My past three requests have been completely ignored with them making no contact whatsoever.
In summary - know what you're getting into. The actual apartments are nice, but probably not worth what you have to deal with in terms of stupid people running the place. While they are showing you around before you move in, they'll put up a very nice front, but after that, the word "helpful" is not in their vocabulary. I'm sure there are better deals out there, and places that won't make me feel like I'm being taken advantage of.

This is the most accurate review I've read so far...except for the one i posted of course. This place sucks. Let me tell you about why there is a security guard to begin with. There was a stabbing in the front lobby within 2 months of me moving in here. My friend had to call the cops 3 times already, twice b/c a girl was getting beaten up in the parking garage, and another time b/c there was a guy laying bloody on the ground in the garage. The management is terrible. My apartment flooded the first month I moved in b/c the water heater was not installed properly and management went on to tell me they were not liable for any damages to my personal property. Um, duh...it's called negligance and obviously the apartment is liable. Of course once i threatened to take them to court, i was then right and they paid for it. They obviously do not want court on their record, since this place has been open over a year and it's only 30% full...
