My experience at Overlook Ridge has been horrible. The ammenities and appearance of the building are great, at first glance, on a guided tour. When the tour is over and the moving trucks have departed, the true Overlook Ridge experience begins. The day begins around 1am, when the Section 8 tenants begin their drunken domestic dispute and stomp around up above you, waking you from a dead sleep, (you are sleeping because hey, you have a job and actually need to wake up to commute to it in the morning). If you are lucky enough to fall back asleep, there is no need for an alarm clock to wake you up again to begin the day. Construction begins anywhere from 6:05am to 7am (at the latest), everyday but Sunday. This is the kind of construction that involves loud machinery, explosions (they blow up rocks), jackhammers, and the ever so popular beep beep beep of trucks in reverse. But wait, weren't we told that it would begin at 9am, only on weekdays' Oh right, did I mention that the management lies' The management team is full of incompetent, smiling, fake individuals, who know little about the operations of a leasing office. The management's response to problems is unacceptable, and at times illegal. In the year that I've lived in my apartment, the washing machine has broken 2-3 times (response was to move the machine and tear up floor tiles only to half assedly replace them, while leaving a mess behind for me to clean up), my closet door was not put on correctly, causing it to not close properly (reponse was to hit the frame with a sledgehammer, consequently knocking pictures off the wall), the garbage disposal became clogged up and created a digusting odor (response was to say it's fine THREE times, only to come back on the fourth and actually fix it), electrical outlets that fall into the wall when anything is plugged in (it took a few tries to fix this), a random stream of water flowing out of the heating vent in my bathroom onto the floor (response was to offer to paint the water stain and said it came from the floor above), sprinkler aimed directly at my window so that the window cannot be opened (response was to look at this 5 times and supposedly adjust the sprinkler but apparently NOT TEST IT TO SEE IF IT WORKS because, yeah, it is still aimed at my window), and the list will inevitably grow as time goes on. The management's response to noise complaints is less than acceptable. Basically, if you deal with loud noise and complain, the response will be "with apartment living there is bound to be some noise." AKA, you will continue to have to deal with it. By the way, the Revere Police Department is just as bad, good luck with them if they even show up. The security at Overlook Ridge functions as doormen. Security does not respond to complaints. There was one security guard that responded to a noise complaint, however, I learned that he was fired (probably for doing his job and helping out the tenants). I've talked to people who live near the movie theater ammenity, according to them, they hear every movie that is played. This place was constructed as cheaply as possible. My advice is to disregard the positive comments on this page, because clearly they are written by members of management. Rent at your own risk.

I have lived at Overlook for the past year and have had nothing but a pleasant experience. Sounds to me like this person just likes to complain. Did you ever think your washing machine, garbage disposal, etc breaks because you are the one abusing them??? Yes, the construction sucks...but you knew that construction was going to be occuring when you signed your lease...as did all of us. Glad you no longer lived there because it sounds like you would be one of those neighbors that would report someone for flushing the toliet.

No, this person has it 100% right. I've lived there in one of the new buildings for over a year and have run into the same problems as this poster here. The construction in this place is completely shoddy. The floors/ceilings and walls are built so cheaply that even the slightest walking from someone living above you causes your entire ceiling to shake. And we do happen to live near the theater and it (from 4 floors down) vibrates my floor waking me up when a**holes are using at at all crazy hours. My sleep pattern is completely ruined from living here. And management's response is basically like 'deal with it'. I would never recommend living in this building to anyone. It's completely fake. It looks nice from the outside, but once they get you in and get your money you realize how crappy of a place it is. It's in Revere for God's sake people. That alone should have raisedred flags for us. And as for the positive comments from above, obviously from someone on the management team. Try to be a litte less obvious nest time.
