I don't know if it's because I have only been here two months or because I'm in one of the new buildings but based on my experience so far I would definitely recommend Alterra. I haven't had any noise problems from my neighbors and I'm usually at work during the day so the construction noise has not been a problem for me. My apartment is spacious, with all the modern amenities and I like having the gym, computer room, conference/study room, lounge and movie room all there. I park in the garage and haven't had any safety issues - the only problem is that occasionally someone decides to pack in my assigned spot. The grounds and the buildings are clean and well-kept. In terms of maintenance, my experience has been excellent. When I had a problem with my AC not working, I submitted a request online and they fixed the problem within less than 24 hours of submitting the online request. The location of the complex also makes it really easy to commute to Boston via Route 1 and there are several alternate ways of getting there as well. From what I've seen so far, I recommend this place - we'll see what the rest of the year is like.

You have been one of the lucky ones who has not had there car broken into. Smash and grabs occur here nightly. Management obviously does not care as they have done nothing to resolve the issue. They just pass around flyers and tell you don't leave anything in your car. Sure these are all great; the gym, computer room, conference/study room, lounge and movie room, but good luck trying to use them as they are for the teenagers from Revere to come in as they please and use them. Security does not care either, in fact they add to the problem by letting them in the door. You must be a heavy sleeper, because come 2 AM on the weekends certain hallways turn into dorms, with yelling, doors slamming and radios blasting. Also be sure to buy plenty of Raid, as tiny black bugs are able to fit through the screens and get into your apartment, not just one or two, I mean many.
