It is funny that I saw the review written by another guy with the same experience as mine!
I shifted out last month only. I also had a similar problem, wanted to watch some chinese channels available only on direct tv and they would not allow me to install it. Obviously they have got smarter now! because when I told them it is my right to install direct tv in my private balcony, they hesitated and gave in.
The biggest surprise of all, the routine RCN cable people got to know of this. They contacted me and offered me a full free year of cable tv if I changed my mind and got RCN! So I did take up this offer!
Now I know that may sound selfish, but what the crap I do wanted to save money!
Current residents-take note.DOn't put up with their BullS--- and talk legalese. They will immidiately cave in and you will get a lovely financial reward. Free cable for me and cash for this other reviewer (insiders tell me the sum was in thousands as out of court settlement)
