I moved in nearly a year ago and decided not to renew back in December. I was attracted to the amenities, convenience, size and age of the apartments but have been completely disgusted by the lack of care the complex, campus and tenants receive. To fix this, the company has changed the name of the management company in April, yet the employees have generally remained the same!
While a lot is done to make the campus look nice, little is done to please the tenants, including adhering to complex and lease rules. For example, we've had to argue with management to get nearly anything fixed or issues such as animal waste and over-sized (above the weight regulation written into the leases) aggressive pets addressed.
While there are some mgmt. hosted parties, they're really not worth attending. There are better ways to meet your neighbors, such as tenant meetings in which the management places responsibility for managing the complex on the tenants (while never addressing shared tenant issues).
It's not all bad. Of all management personnel, one person, Steve, a maintenance person, will actually put his best effort into resolving a maintenance issue. However, I can't help but feel that he is swimming against the tide. After all, he first has to be notified by apt. mgmt. that there is an issue...
