Unpleasant Experience

My husband and I lived at JSS for a couple of years despite experiencing many of the problems mentioned by other reviewers.
However, we left after our dog was attacked by a resident pit that was allowed to run loose regularly. Management was generally unresponsive and sent us to the city, who referred us back to JSS.
When my husband was then threatened by the owner of the pit b/c we complained about the attack, w/o apparent recourse from management, we'd had enough.
We still have friends who live in the complex; some b/c they genuinely enjoy living there, some b/c they have no other option. The amenities are nice. However, we still hear complaints about uncooperative management or unattended repairs.
If you are seriously considering the place, do yourself a favor: take a stroll on the premises, stop a few residents and ask them questions about aspects that matter to you. That's the best way to get a realistic picture of what living at JSS is currently like.
