My mother lived in these apartments and it was THE WORST EXPERIENCE she has ever had. When she moved in, the apt manager pointed out a few things that were broken or not working and promised that these things would be fixed prior to her moving in. Needless to say they were not. My mother went for three days without a working toilet and had to run to the gas station to use the bathroom because the manager claimed he "cant get a plumber in" right away. I knew that was crap bc everyone knows that there are plumbers that will come for an emergency. The tenants above my mom were loud and inconsiderate. They were up until all hours of the night and kept my mother awake so often that she actually broke down in tears more than once from lack of sleep. She asked the manager to do something. he said he would and did absolutely nothing. I know this because I confronted them and asked if the mng had spoken with them and they said he never said a word. The washing machine and dryer never worked. The washer would work, then she would go to put her things in the dryer and pump $2.00 in quarters into the machine and find out it wasnt working again. It took the manager three weeks to fix the dryer. And plowing/snow removal' pffft. they do it once. So each time there was a storm my husband had to wake up early, go to my moms place and shovel out her car. Oh, also..and this is a real kicker: When my mom moved in, there were no fire extingushers anywhere on the property. However, the fire alarm did go off at least once every three months in the dead of night, waking my mother and panicking her. It got so bad, that the other tenants never even came out of their apartments and my mom found herself outside in the winter in her nightgown shivering alone in the snow wondering where everyone else was. The real jewel was the fact that some kid in another building bought himself a full sized drum set and set it up in the apartment and played and played to his hearts content, keeping my mother awake. It didnt much matter though, the people abover her and across the hall kept her awake anyways. She told the manager and again-nothing. My mothers car was broken into while parked in the driveway. She had to pay a "pet deposit" for her cat which was never returned to her. The worst part was, every time I called the manager to ask that something be fixed, he made me feel like a burden. Also, there was a ridiculous amount of mold/mildew growing in the apartment that I demanded be cleaned. It never was. My mothers toilet backed up and "maintenence" used her BATHROOM RUG to sop up the dirty filthy water and left it in the middle of her kitchen floor, stinking and dripping. I feel that my mother, a recent divorcee was taken total advantage of at a time when she was most vulnerable. I spoke to some "friends" of a friend who told me that had I spoken to them about the place before she moved in, they would have told me what I was in for. This is such a shame and so unfair to the tenants. I would never reccomend any A&C realty property to anyone I liked.
