These people are lazy crooks and are only interested in collecting rent checks. If you have anything that needs to be fixed, they'll stall until you give up. One winter, I had water coming through my ceiling due to blocked drain pipes and sustained water damage. I could never get through to the owner and the person who would answer the phone always sounded like he never knew what was going on. When I asked to have the water-damaged walls re-painted he said he would get back to me. Several weeks later, I called and was told that he didn't remember me ever calling! The apartment was finally re-painted but an entire 7 months afterward. In another incident, water pooling on the roof during a storm causing leaking through the hallway ceiling & light fixtures. For days, no one did anything. When I finally reported this to the Super, he very relucatantly set up a barrel and the next day, made a comment about (gasp!) having to empty it and god forbid, do work. Gee, that's what he's there for, no' In short, their buildings are old and anytime you ask for any kind of maintenance or repairs, they'll resist every step of the way.
