Rosemeade is a well planned complex. It does have a great deal of amentities, like the gym,fax machine and the tennis courts. Things are in the right place inside my apartment. There is even a heater when you come in the door.. which is great for drying your boots.

However, the complex is not run very well. Since I moved in (only 6 months ago), I have had three maintenance problems. The first one was fixed on the first try, the next one took four weeks and three attempts, and the last one was the worst- there were three weeks that an area of my apartment was unusable. The maintenance staff are friendly once you reach them ( the answering service for the complex is not so good) , but they have to be, because they cause half of the problems (at least in my apartment) when they are fixing other problems.

Over the weekend there was a major snowstorm, which ended really on Sunday. However,snow removal is inadequate. There was about a foot and a half of snow, and since no one came to plow regularly during that time and no one salted or put down sand during the weekend of snow, there is now (monday) a pack of snow about 3 inches thick covering the entire lot. This morning (3 days from the start of the storm) sand was finally thrown down before all of us residents (most who dug themselves out of the snow yesterday, because the plow got nowhere near the cars) commuted to work. The only place they actually plowed adequately was a strip of the hill you have to drive up to get in. Unfortunately, they didn't plow the strip you drive down adequately, so get FOUR WHEEL DRIVE AND ABS if you want to live here. This lack of adequate snow removal is the most disturbing trend in this property and is very hazardous. The maintenance problems happen, but snow removal only takes a little bit of planning and financing to get it done adequately. Fire lanes were plowed only on Sunday afternoon and not at all the rest of the time. In my view, this shows a blatant disregard and caring for residents who live here.

I am not being unreasonable about the snow removal- when I got down to the road and out of the complex, it was clear of snow and you could see the pavement- for my entire 50 mile drive to work. If all of these cities and small towns on my way to work can do it, I am sure this smaller complex can do it.

Which leads me to the point;
This complex is disappointingly common-- there are few places that actually care about quality and consumer satisfaction, and my experience has them fitting right in with that trend. Just don't be suprised or let the pleasant demeanor of the salespeople fool you. This is definitly no Eden although I have very nice neighbors moving in and out all of the time.
