I went to see these apartments last October and i put down a $500 security deposit and signed the paper saying i would lose it if i decided to cancel it after 72 hours. Well this all seemed fair. I was getting 1 month rent free and only paying 1 month rent and $500 (that i already put down) for last month and security deposit. So this seemed all well and good until i got a call a week and a half later saying that i would have to put down a full months rent for a security deposit. At this point i told the woman that i did not want the apartment and she said i would not be getting back my security deposit. So i went there in person and told her that i was not interested in moving into the apartment. This was now the begining of November. My move in date was supposed to be December 27. So after my dealings with her i just took it as a loss and moved on. Well on December 27 and 28 i got phone calls from the office asking when i was moving in. I was on vacation and they called my emergency phone number. This is when they were advised again by me that i was not planning on moving into the apartment.
In March i get a phone call from a collection agency stating that i owe Rosemeade $498.27 for lost rent. It is now on my credit report and i cant rent another apartment anywhere until i pay this. These people, if that is what you want to call them, already have $500 of my money now they want $500 more. This place is totally screwed up and i think it is a total SCAM!!!
