Not bad, if you can take the noise

I'm leaving Armoury Commons because of a need to get out of Springfield (Springfield just isn't for me) more than problems with this complex. However...

One determining factor has been the outside noise, which is more of a problem than noise from the neighbors (though some neighbors occasionally play their music too loudly). Outside is a constant stream of traffic (we're right by an intersection), often with music blasting out of vehicles so loudly that I can almost feel the vibrations of the bass. (Rap music is the most popular, by the way.) I can also hear voices from the street quite well. The noise continues late into the night.

Now, I'm pretty accustomed to street noise, but not right outside my window. One might ask, "Then why live in a city'" Good point, but it is getting to be a bit much, especially since I'm here a lot...

There was also the issue with what I assume was the fire alarm. It was a loud buzzing in the hallway, painfully loud when I left my apartment and headed downstairs. It was a Sunday, so no one was in the office. It seemed that I was the only person in the entire complex who was concerned. I went outside and didn't see another soul. I walked to the fire station--two buildings down--and there was no one there. I was about to call 911 when the alarm stopped. It went off again within a little more than a week.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention the fire and police stations nearby. That means lots of sirens...

And yet, overall, I'm recommending Armoury Commons. Why' The buildings themselves are more interesting architecturally than most complexes I've seen, and the apartment that I'm in is quite nice (hardwood floors, lots of windows and light). The area also seems safe overall. So if you have a compelling reason to live in downtown Springfield and you can stand a good deal of street noise, you could do much worse. mgFDbN4-dhkSMZ7zRmVH
