My wife and I moved to Stonehill Towers one year ago. We previously lived at Avalon Oaks in Wilmington for five years but had to move because we needed a building with an elevator (Elderly parents)

There are four buildings each consisting of 50 units - 10 units on each floor
five floors.

They recently installed a brand new elevator which works perfectly so the previous review's issue have been resolved Snow Removal is fantastic and the grounds are well kept. All older units are being remodeled as the units turn over.(New Kitchens, bathrooms and carpeting as well as light fixtures.)
We moved into a remodeled unit and indeed everything is brand new. Walls and floor are well built and I have not noticed any noise from my neighbors. It is extremely quiet.

There are trash rooms on every floor and they are emptied twice a day. It was a concern of mine when we moved in however it has not been a problem. When you move in they will actually ask you if you have a preference on paint colors. Hallways are vacuumed every day, they have a very nice mailroom and the lobby is well lit, spacious and well kept. The balconies are huge and most are screened in. Every unit comes with a large storgae unit.
Kitchen has recessed lighting and there is an over the stove Microwave Oven.
If you choose a two bedroom unit, the master bath off the bedroom has a shower stall
which is a very nice feature.

Rooms are large

I assure you that if you take the tour there, all the things I mentioned are clearly
noticeable. Many of the neighbors are elderly. They are extremely friendly.

I just renewed my lease and the rent stayed the same. Not common these days.

Maintenance people are very attentive and their Property Manager Janet is right on the ball and stays on top of things. Maintenance issues are taken care of immediately.

Since the complex is on a hill, some of the higher units have a fantastic view of the Boston skyline, the sunset or sunrise.

Laundry room is on the first floor with 4 washers and two dryers. Never ever seems to be a problem of getting the wash done (so my wife tells me)

Cons: Counter space in the kitchen is limited. Might bother some people.
The two bedroom units come with a large Wall Air Conditioner in the living room which works very well. Also there a a wall A/C unit in the master bedroom. However, the second bedroom does not have a unit and we have found it to be quite warm. They have given us permission to install a Casement A/C Unit which we will do.

No washer & Dryer in unit

NO other Cons.

Lastly, the rent includes Heat & Water. This past winter we found the unit extremely comfortable.
A truly great place to live.
