Nice but should be better

I found these apartments to be satisfactory, but they are quite old and in need of refurbishing. And I think you should get more for the price. I asked the office to replace a furnishing that was decrepit but they refused. I had a broken window that took them 6 months to fix, despite monthly phone calls to remind them. When I moved in, the cheap metal clothes rod in my closet broke, and it took them 3 tries to get one that didn't break--a plain rod of raw wood (they didn't paint it). If you want a separate storage unit, you have to pay extra. The units consist of 2x4's and chicken wire. In my storage area, which is quite dirty, one of the units was clearly vandalized, and was not repaired. I had plumbing issues--twice the garbage from the garbage disposal ended up surfacing in my bathroom sink. The apartments are not well-soundproofed-- the neighbor's tv set is quite audible from my bedroom. Plenty of college kids are around, which tends to make things noisy late at night, so it's sometimes hard to get a good night's sleep. When I moved in, I was told there were plenty of "events" designed to help people get to know each other. I lived there for almost two years and they didn't have one single event.
On the plus side, it's a beautiful area and convenient to all the surrounding towns and route 91.
I think it's an ideal place for students and people who need short-term lodging. Unfortunately, there's not much else to choose from for quality "affordable" housing in the area.
