Overall this is a fairly nice place. I've lived there for about 4 years now and despite a few issues that really bug me its been a good place to live.
I'm in a 1 bed / 1 bath. It is small but I knew the floor plan and the square footage before I moved in. It really doesn't bother me much.
I'm not sure why this site shows the rent at 745 I'm paying over 800. It still seems somewhat reasonable as most utilities are covered in the rent. Most of the places in the area, once you factor in utilities, are comparable in cost.
On to my areas of complaint:
1st. The AC box in the wall. AC's are not provided by the complex. Instead there are boxes cut in the wall that will fit a WALL AC unit. The more common window units will fit in them however most professional installers will tell you that window units are not meant to operate in these boxes. There is no drainage for the window unit when stored in this box and condensation will build up and cause the unit to operate inefficiently and it will drastically reduce the life of the unit. Instead you will need to buy a more expensive WALL unit which run from 450-600 dollars. That or go without AC. Cliffside will not allow the installation of window unit AC's anywhere but within the box they provide.
2nd. Maintenance. While generally pretty nice and good at minor repairs. Other things tend to not be done well or done in the cheapest possible way. Not entirely uncommon in an apartment complex where they try to weigh keeping their tennants vs spending as little money as possible. It is a business after all. Still I've had some work done and redone on three different occasions and I'm still seeing the problem. I suppose at some point I'll have to contact them again and have them try once more.
3rd. Parking. This is currently my biggest complaint. While generally there are enough spots and parking is close to the buildings, my main complaint is with the infuriating towing policy they have. Every winter when it snows they will at some point decide that its time to plow the lots. When they do this any care that isn't parked in what they term 'Long Term' parking is towed at the owners expense. The vehicle is towed off site and stored in a locked facility and you must pay to retrieve your vehicle. The site is not even particularly close to complex. You'll have to bus and then walk some unless you have someone who can give you a ride. Then pay somewhere between 80-120 dollars to get your car back. They have made some improvements to this. Now at least they do call when they are going to be towing. However I often receive those calls after they have started. For example I didn't receive my call this last time till 9:15 that they were starting to tow at 9:00 am. Additionally while they do give a written description of which lots are 'Long Term' none of the lots are marked and its fairly difficult to figure out where exactly you can park. Especially when the more obvious ones are already completely filled. It seems like at least once a year despite my best efforts to keep my car from being towed it happens and I have to incur the pain in the ass of retrieving my vehicle and paying entirely to much because I had the temerity to park my car at my apartment complex. grrr.

Thank you for your honest concerns and compliments. Please contact management and we will clarify the snow removal policy so that we may both avoid aggravation.
