There were issues when we moved in, and it seemed like it wasn't going to work out, but Northland's ----------- straightened everything out. Shows value for the tenants.

For students, busing to Amherst is easy. For outdoor enthusiasts and nature-lovers, there are many miles of trails and a regionally significant mountain in your backyard. There is a CSA about a mile down the road, a good local market (The Millstone), with local produce and meats, some organic. There are several local farmstands. You can do most of your errands by bicycle if you wish, and it's an easy ride. Aside from 116, the roads are quiet and fairly safe.

There is a yoga center, a day spa, a meditation center, a doughnut shop, pizza restaurant (GOOD calzone!), mini-mart and diner across the street. Ice cream and grill down 116 a half-mile into town is a local fave., pretty good. Ice cream shop also at Pasiecnik's stand, with veggies, flowers,and such a mile the other way on Rte. 47. There's an acupuncturist in town and a dentist near town, both a surprise since the town is about two blocks long and one block wide.

In town, folks are quiet, but friendly. Sunderland is as picturesque as it could be, less built-up than any of the surrounding towns, but only a few minutes to Amherst or Northampton. The town is still mostly farmlands.
