Would recommend (and have done so often)

First off, the buildings are somewhat old and are showing their age, but maintenance seems active and everything is in working order. If older buildings are the price you pay for a very cheap 2 bedroom townhouse with 2 bathrooms, plenty of parking, decent location, and a community filled with generally decent people, then so be it.
Since our appartment is a townhouse, there is, unlike many other appartment complexes, no issue with noise from the floor above. There is also ample yard space behind the appartment for BBQs, and the community feels laid back and safe enough that we don't feel akward being outside here.
However, what I think most distinguishes Squire Village from every other appartment complex I've looked at or lived in was the management itself. The woman who runs the place is one of the nicest, most understanding, and personable people I've ever met in any sort've management position. After dealing with the 3 inept 20-something witches who run Sugarloaf Estates, having a chatty, friendly older woman who seems to actually enjoy her job was a pleasure. The maintenance guy (her -------, I think) is similarly friendly, and there's no akwardness in bringing up maintenance issues.
Yes, the office resembles a tag sale. There are toys and amusing flyers adorning just about every surface. I don't see the problem with this. The woman who runs the office had fun showing them off while we waited, and this was far more amusing than sitting in a dull white corporate room.
I didn't notice any cookies being sold in the office, as has been mentioned in previous reviews, but if there are, then I fail to see how that's at all a bad thing.
Perhaps the negative reviews about these aspects of Squire Village that I found endearing were written by the Grinch, or some other happiness-challenged supervillian...
: Update: I've lived here about a year now. I've come to appreciate a fantastic job in regards to quick maintenance and a very friendly and laid back attitude towards management. In Sugerloaf estates just down the road, the lazy management tows your car (at your expense) when it snows and refuses to give warning calls beforehand. Here they help you dig it out. Really can't recommend Squire Village enough.
