Got progressively worse

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2004
We were thrilled to move here because we'd been in a tiny urban apartment before. When we moved in, the rent was very reasonable (about $850 including a storage unit) and the office staff and maintenance were great.
Three years later, the maintenance and office staff have gone through a complete turnover, and they're nickeling and diming us to death. If we had decided to stay long enough to renew the lease for a fourth year, the rent would have gone up to $1100, including a "special bargain price" of $25 for cable TV. We don't have a television! But everyone gets to pay, whether they use it or not. We also pay $15 a month for having a cat - in addition to an extra pet deposit.
What happened to our TV, you may ask' It was stolen by a day laborer hired by the maintenance department. They gave him a master key to the basement storage units, apparently without checking his criminal record. The Sunderland police and the Franklin County judicial system were very helpful.
When we moved in, a selling point was that residents could make photocopies and send and receive faxes from the office for free. Now there's suddenly a "limit of 10 pages," which I was told snidely after I received a fax that was longer than I expected.
We're also sick to death of "party night" on Fridays and Saturdays, a side effect of being in the Five College area. We've called the cops at least a dozen times on people out yelling and breaking beer bottles at 3 AM. And I can echo the reviews that mentioned thin ceilings - I'm listening to my neighbor singing along with his TV right now. He must be enjoying the $25 cable bargain, I guess.
Need I mention the parking-lot light that flickered on and off all night for almost a year' Or the neighbors who held their loud sing-along prayer meetings at 11 PM'
Luxury, indeed. We're moving to a duplex with a nice family a few towns away. They have two children under 6, but at least there'll be no beer-fests in the wee hours.
