as bad as they say it is.
Management is AWFUL once they get your signature.
Beware of illegal fees: application fees, fees to set up your internet and cable and pet fees are all illegal.
I read that online just today! The service guys at Sugarloaf are useless even though they show up the next day after you call.
I feel sorry for the service guys, they are nice but their hands are TIED.
Worst is the neighbors.
Noise and drugs like you would expect at a college dorm.
Except here you pay almost $1100 a MONTH to live in a dorm!
Sunderland is nice tho.
I like the library and the cops are nice.
You'll learn that if you live at Sugarloaf because you will call them ALL the time.
You need a car to live here even though there is a bus into Amherst (it costs $1 but they NEVER EVER ask for the money.
So that's why people say its "free").
There are no grocery stores on that bus so you have to transfer to another "free" bus.
If you want to live in Sunderland its a good idea but dont live at Sugarloaf.
I just moved into a farmhouse with four apartments.
The rent is the same for me and its on a bus to town but NO UNDERGRADS allowed!! WOO HOO!
I'm rating Sugarloaf with all ONE STARs.
I wish it deserved better but as I think about it this place just isn't even two stars.

It is far from a dorm! The apartments are spacious and not small by any means. My neighbors are great and none of them are students. I live in a building with all families and one couple. I love it here!
