Cheaper and better than a mortgage

I moved out of my house and into Building Six last winter. I wasn't convinced at first that it would be a good long-term plan financially.
After my kids moved out, the house was just too big and I was tired of snow shoveling, major repairs (roof, water heater, etc.) and having to spend all day Sunday mowing the lawn. I was also tired of feeling house-poor, with so much money tied up in the mortgage and home equity to pay for the kids college and an addition.
After paying off the mortgage, we investing our remaining profit on the house in stocks. We are paying less now in rent than we did on a mortgage and have none of the headaches of owning a home. We have a pool and gym and playground for when the family visits. Plus we have a function room to use free of charge for family get togethers. I can't think of a single reason in the world why someone wouldn't want to live here. We have money freed up to travel and spend onthe family and if there's any maintenance issues, it's someone else's problem. On top of all this, we have wonderful neighbors!
