The prices are way too high!

The prices here are jumping ahead of the bad economical conditions. For $1670 a month I could rent a nice townhouse in Acton, where the school system is much better than in Tewksbury.
The day I moved I was told that the rental agreement (lease), has to be signed for the first year only. So what happened the next year, when I got lease renewal agreement' Well, "the management has changed and we have the new rules" was the answer.
Now, that I don't want to sign another one for the next year, I have to pay $150 more every month, which is $1.670 (when I moved in 2 years ago, I paid $1.225).
I can say only one thing - the company I am working for is not doing raises this year, due to the poor economical conditions. It seems to me that Archstone lives in it's own world of 'ever blooming economy'...
