I moved to Briar Glen Village in August of 2007. I moved into the place sight-unseen and I have to say overall I was not disappointed. While the place is several years old, the apartments are well-maintained and my place didn't show very much wear. The landscaping is nice, and the snow is promptly plowed and shoveled. One issue I had is that my large (1100 sq. ft) 1BR apartment was on the lower level and mostly underground except for the walk-out back; it was sort of cave-like, and footsteps from above were annoying.

The management team was good to work with, and they always answered the phone quickly and responded to whatever I needed. I had a couple of minor maintenance issues that were quickly resolved.

The property is in a suburban neighborhood in Waltham, surrounded by a widely varied range of incomes. Shopping is limited to a few strip malls about a mile away. It's a nice place if you want to get away from the bustling city life, but I have to say this place is almost too quiet and isolated if you like to socialize and feel a part of the community. Parking was never a problem.

Any feedback on how the smaller 1-BR apartments are? Also, I am seeing reviews about high heating bills, hot water not working etc. Is tha true?

And the MBTA bus stops along Lincoln/Lake street, literally right near the entrance to the apartment compound.
