I think the Ridge is pretty nice. The area is pretty clean, for the most part. They are always doing landscaping and it shows!
We haven't needed much for maintainence here- just a few lightbulbs and the like, and they have always come over withint HOURS of calling! They are pleasant and efficient.
The pool was nice this summer- hardly anyone was at it during the week.
I agree that at times some of the people that pay less to live here seem to be disruptive to the community- police have been here every so often and there have been late night parties from time to time. I am not saying it is all the "low income", but it does seem pretty obvious that when it happens, it is more than likely from them. So, that is pretty frustrating. My neighbors have told me that they feel unsafe around some residents (those with the police calls and those that sit outside honking their horns for their friends to come down- rude!), but I have never felt unsafe and don't really see how you could.
The apt is nice with it's elevated ceilings. It was built pretty cheaply (paint smudges if you rub it lightly, the rug is cheap, the bathroom fixtures cheap) but it only has to last a year and then they fix it up for the next person, so we have been satisfied!!
So, I would def recommend this place. We paid $1630/month in rent, but they were raising it on us for the next year to $1750! no thanks!! I wouldn't say its worth paying more than that for a 1 bdrm.

I am an "affordable" renter here at the Ridge and I strongly disagree with how you label the affordable renters as the bad guys! I happen to know of SEVERAL market paying residents that argue all hours of the night, do not pick up after their dogs (which is the reason for the posted notices) play loud music etc.. Really I've enjoyed living here and with apartment living you have to consider living with all different kinds of people. Go buy a house if you feel you are overpaying or if you are so above people who've just had this luxury apartment "handed" to them. I happen to make a decent living and fell into the affordable program based on family size and income. This is by no means a ghetto and I've never had problems with my car, nor do I really stand at my window when I see police/ambulance. Keep your head in your apartment, clean up after your dogs, be respectful of other no matter what rent they pay or just buy a house. Since you are so much better than an average "renter". The Ridge has been a great place to live for me and my family and it irritates me that you'd consider your self better simply because you pay more rent. Humble yourself and mind your business. It's an apartment community.

Of course that is true that some who pay higher rent will act out, but it does seem there are a LOT of low-income's living here. It is gross that some people do not pick up after their dogs~ it appears to be the smaller dogs that leave their poops around. The complex is the best we've stayed at, but it is frustrating to think that some people are not paying what others are paying to live in such an overpriced place.

I am currently living here as well. Moved in during March when there was no one at the new apartment 275. My roommate and I came from another luxury apartment complex in Quincy and thought we were moving to a nicer area. It is absolute correct from all the reviews above that the low-income is taking over. I have seen first hand drug deals gone down, police arresting people who were drunk and crashed into the side walls of the ridge and fights are constant throughout the night. The smell of ---- is absurd in the trash cans outside the houses and if I see someone put their trash bags outside the house one more time!!!! Its a disgrace to think I am paying thousands of dollars to live in a condition that is basically that of the ghetto. Its absurd and I completely agree with the first listing. Since March I have had to call the maintenance 3 times in June just for our AC alone. It doesn't work at all, the bathroom "tiles" (not tiles at all are lifting and the entire place is done VERY VERY CHEAPLY.) I feel sorry for those that have families living in this apartments the loud obnoxious Kids are taking over as well and its completely unacceptable. I can't wait for the lease to be up so I can live back in Quincy with among 2000 people where it was quiet and no one bothered you and everyone cleaned up after themselves. DO NOT RENT HERE!! Unless ofcourse you are low income and paying cheaply it is a nice place.... not worth the $$ otherwise.

Well well well lets see..."low income" residents who just sit around all day and do nothing, I have an idea for you "upper calss" residents, if that is even what you want to consider yourself, because ANYBODY with any type of class would NEVER make such absurd comments about those who may not be paying "top rent". So why don't you hire these "low income" residents to pick up after your NASTY dogs. The problems that you can legitimately complain about i.e. the "cheap" put together of the units has nothing to do with the "low income" residnets...complain to the leasing office. Another thing if you can afford to pay what you claim you are paying, GO BUY YOUR OWN HOUSE!!!! Can't we all just get along?? |

All the yuppie a**holes need to get a life. I am a "low income" renter (if you can call 1164.00 low income) and I've never had to call the police, nor have I had them called on me. I'm tired of all the stare downs and looks I get from you people. People are people, who cares how much money we make and is it really ANY of your business? So just clean up after your damn dogs and stop looking at me like I'm beneath you because I don't drive a brand new car.
