Not a luxury apartment

I have been living here for several months and I have to say this place is anything but luxury, it is basic apartment living.
I am writing this at about 1:00 am as my upstairs neighbors have sex yet again on their 299 mattress discounters special mattress set (free metal frame!!) and it is impossible to sleep because my ceiling sounds like it is about to collapse.
The noise level in this place is impossible. When they come home with their cinder block feet it sounds like they are throwing the furniture around, until they turn on their thumping stereo, then I don't know what it sounds like because I am too busy looking for my fillings that have been shaken out.
The only way I would say live here is if you have a top floor, but since there are no elevators, this is not possible unless you have the white trash furniture special (see above). Even then, the strip mall behind empties trash at 3:00am on tuesdays and that is a fun hour. Luxury apartment and no elevator, that must be a first.
The kitchen does not have granite and the dishwasher noise may cause a seizure. Basically you don't have to worry about cutting yourself on any sharp corners because they cut every corner here during construction.
No alarms on the doors, people doing laundry (yes WT again) at midnight, try and sleep through that, cheap laminate on the floors, and they best you will get is a luke warm shower, or if you enjoy sitting in your own filth, a bath (or sex like my neighbors). If you ask about the temp you will be told this cannot be adjusted, but what they mean is this cannot be adjusted without shortening the life if the water heater, something I couldn't care less about, esp. in a place that claims luxury. Fortunately you can break into the room and raise the water temp, but I shouldn't have had to do that.
It is not all bad, and perhaps if I had been able to get a proper nights sleep since I moved here I would be able to point out a couple of good things like; maintenance people keep everything clean in snow and the front staff seems nice though are really at the mercy of shoddy construction so you can't blame them.
Basically, if you are looking for luxury, this is not the place (and I heard avalon up the street is just as bad noise wise), but if you are a college kid and don't know any better, or the location appeals to you, then get a top floor. You and your ikea furniture will probably enjoy it.
I personally am seriously considering eating the penalty and moving out. I hope you don t get my place.

Wow, not sure what building you live in, but I live on the 1st floor of my building and never hear the neighbors ever, I have never had an issue with the temperature of my water heater, my shower's always hot, I live in the back of the building right near the retail plaza below and never hear the trash collector. I do have granite in my kitchen and top notch appliances. I also don't think its uncommon for complexes of this sort to not include elevators, with only 3 levels its not always necessary and its not a hidden fact, you knew there were no elevators when you moved in.

The only way you could never hear your neighbors is if you don't have any. Of course given the fact that you supposedly somehow miss the 1 ton dumpster slamming in the middle of the night, you could also be stone deaf.
Obviously hot for you is lukewarm to me. When I take a shower I have it on maximum heat and I have no fear of being scalded, which means also my dishes and clothes have no idea what a hot cycle is.
You do not have granite, you, like everyone else, has granite colored formica. The appliances are mid grade, not top grade. They are serviceable, but not top grade.
I was aware of no elevators, but my statement was as a warning to people who expect a certain level so they wouldn't waste their time. I agree it is not uncommon for average apartment complexes of this sort not to have an elevator, but luxury always does.
I didn't say it was all bad, just mainly that the noise level is unacceptable and it is not in the luxury catagory. Mine was a review, you on the other hand defended the complex at every turn withing 8 hours of me writing my review, while claiming residence. I think you have an interest, but I don't think it is as a resident.

ok...I have been here 3 years and I agree with newmarenter on most issues...except that the noise level really does vary building to building...any law against naming buildings? Mine is 247-251, pretty quiet most of the time...yes, because..I have nice quiet neighbors...the SOUNDPROOFING is not good...I have rented in ma for some 30 years and and unless you are living in the new vesta crp apartments downtown at 4-10K/month (price calibration point) you're not going to see much real "luxury"...just be glad the police are not daily at your building as they are at avalon down the street....(nice neighbors there).

119 is horrible. Hear every single thing that is going on in the building.
I have to add that as others have noted, the snow plowing is so noisy. I think the appliances are ok but definitely not luxurious. the Dishwasher though is a mess. Even with the bedroom door closed you can still hear it. Sex seems to be a huge problem here, they should ban it lol.. but seriously, I learned my neighbor's name by his girlfriend/wife. on the plus side, you could almost have a social conversation with your neighbors without even leaving your house..
Can't wait to get out of here.
