Feels like a college dorm

I've lived at The Ridge for about a year and would not recommend this place to any professional who is looking for a higher-end apartment complex. I agree with the earlier poster who discussed how loud this place is. I hear EVERYTHING from my rude, obnoxious Bentley neighbors. They listen to music with thumping bass well into the night and have friends over to play drinking games Thursday-Sunday. Thw walls are so loud I can even hear people using the toilet!! In addition to the noise, if you are lucky enough to live above or below a smoker your apartment will be filled with smoke. In the warmer months when I had my windows open the smoke would waft into my apartment when neighbors are smoking on their terraces (often). I could not deal with my nice furniture and clothes smelling of smoke, so resorted to spending so much in A/C as I had to keep my windows closed. The fact that the Ridge does not have non-smoking buildings still perpelexes me. Back to those thin walls....so thin you can literally smell the smoke through the floor (assuming your downstairs neighbor smokes indoors). My last warning of this place is the snowplows that plow 24 hours a day when there is the slightest amount of snow. You are reading this thinking..."how great, they are good about plowing, what is this person ranting about'"...Unless you live through a night when their fleet of f-ing snowplows (the ones with the automatic alarms sound when they are in reverse)are plowing the parking lots, you have no reason to question my statement (nor should you). It is so bad that I left my apartment and stayed at my friend's house. Over the christmas week the constant plowing kept me up all night. I honestly thought I was losing my mind with the noises. Snow used to be such a happy and fun occasion, but living here has completely ruined that for me. I am not exagerrating nor am I being overly dramatic. I cringe when I see the forecast calling for snow.
Construction is so cheap. The faux-granite peels off - I have scotch tape holding mine down. The linoleum tiles in the bathroom and kitchen come up and the dishwasher is so loud. You cannot run it while you are home. Oh, and they don't give you storm windows so there is a terrible draft in the winter. Poorly insulated and expect to be freezing in your bedroom.
Live here if you want to live amongst lower-class college students who like drinking and throwing up in the parking lots after a big weekend out in "Waltham". Live here if you don't mind cheap fixtures and a place that lacks any and all class. If you are a mature adult who enjoys your peace and quiet after a long day I strongly advise you against this place. Don't say you were not warned. You can get such a better place for the money somewhere else.
