If you're rich or have roommates it's OK

I lived in a 'classic' townhouse, which basically means it's old, has 70's style dark floors and paint chips everywhere. But you know that moving in, and the 'renovated' townhomes are unaffordable, at least for middle-class people. And college students...because of the number of bathrooms, the townhomes are very popular among college students. You have to consider this, because this means loud, long parties. If you don't mind that, no problem. But this also means that each unit needs 2-4 parking spaces, so if you're not home by 6 PM, be prepared to walk. Since the complex is built on a hill, walking can be a problem. Technically, the Wal-Lex shopping center is within walking distance, but that is only if you are an experienced hiker.
And if you are considering renting a 'classic' unit, beware: My lease was not renewed because my unit was scheduled to be renovated- I was basically kicked out. Although the turnover is very high, they don't wait for tenants to move out to renovate.
The renovated units are very nice, you can view them online. However, because of the hill, most townhouses are built on top of the 1-bedroom units. So it makes you feel like you still live in an apartment building.
There are no recycling bins. I was told that the tenants just couldn't get it straight so they gave up. So all trash (that includes furniture and TVs) goes into big dumpsters - not environmentally friendly.
If you don't have any kids, you may be annoyed by the noise. Every daylight hour, there are hordes of screaming kids running around. I don't understand why it had to be screaming all the time, but it was.
The office staff is friendly and curteous, and the maintenance staff fixes problems fast and satisfactory.
