I have been living in Windsor village for almost 2 1/2 years. initially I lived in renovated 2 bedroom apartment. The 2 bed apartment was all right with the exception of the noise coming from the neighbors because of the cheap material used to renovate these townhouses. I was lucky to live in an end unit. but again it all depends what section of the complex you live in. I will avoid the main entrance and the apartments facing the parking lot since you will be getting a lot of noise from traffic.
A year ago I decided to downgrade and move to a new one (1) bedroom apartment (because the leasing office wanted to increase my rent by 25% for the 2 bed apt). I was very excited since it was all renovated and it had a new kitchen, new bathroom and the full package. I was very excited until the second or the third week living there than problems started. The problem I had was with bugs. there were bugs everywhere. Bugs are coming in to the apartment even with windows and the screens closed. there were Ants, spiders (all kind) and another type ugly bugs everywhere. I had them in the living room, bathroom, kitchen and the bedroom. Most of them coming from the closet where the heating and boiler units are, and some come from outside even with the doors and windows closed. I called the leasing office to check out the problem and I was told it is normal to have few spiders once in a while. they sent some pest control guy but that did not help at all. I had to but pest spray to get rid of the bugs and kill one or 2 a day (avoid at all cost).
The other problem with the place was the heater and the AC. it took half a dozen calls and numerous back and forth for the maintenance people to fix the problem (a month in all)
The apartment was facing North, therefore it was not getting enough light and it was very dark inside, very humid. It felt like I was living in a cave.
To top all, I am getting noise from the neighbors and this is due the poor quality of the material used to build these mediocre apts. If you live in a one bedroom apartment in Windsor village expect to have two neighbors living above you, one neighbor lives above the bedroom and kitchen section then another 3-bd neighbor living above the living section. So you will be getting noise from two sides. my point is that I am getting a lot of noise from the neighbors. The rental office did not anything about it and I talked to the neighbors but they were not helpful.
Avoid this place for all costs for the following reasons:
Noise from neighbors due to poor material used to build the units.
Noise from the streets and apartments facing traffic and parking.
Not enough parking spots (almost no parking after 9pm)
Poorly trained Staff and not very polite.
Bugs in unwelcome visitors in the apartment.
They increase the rent on you dramatically after the first year lease.
Poor complex maintenance.
I can not wait for my lease to end to I can get out of there. There are plenty of better places than Windsor Village
