Can't wait to move

We moved into a bottom floor, one bedroom apartment in August and are counting down the days when we can move. Our biggest complaints are the noise and construction. Not only are the walls paper thin, but the management office decided it would be a great idea to rent the upstairs townhouse to a bunch of college kids. They are actually very nice but when they have parties on the weekend, it feels like we are having a rave in our apartment. We've even gone up there and realized the music isn't even that loud, it's the apartments. We hear every step they take, every tv show they watch and when they have parties, all the conversations. Earplugs don't help as the thumping can be felt when trying to sleep. Another lovely benefit of having poorly constucted apartments is that our electric and gas bills are THROUGH THE ROOF this winter and still we are always cold. My parents don't even pay as much as we do to heat their entire house. It's ridiculous.
The bugs and high prices for suburb area living are minor annoyances as well. The bugs might become more of an issue when it gets warmer, we'll see.
The one good thing is that the maitenance staff has been extremely helpful the three times this year our heat has stopped working.
Seriously, I wish I had heeded the reviews on this site before moving.

Windsor Village is one of the worst places to live in. sorry to hear about your bad experience there. I had the same exact experience and I thought i was the only one having issues. The noise from the upstairs neighbors is too much, my heat and gas bills were too high, not to mention the rent was pretty high. bugs were a nuisance. get ready to see some nasty bugs crowling on your bed in the middle of the night when it starts getting warm, around May-June. my advice to you get out of there ASAP.
