We moved to Ashley Arms a week after graduating college and thought it would be a good first apartment. Most of the residents did not speak English, did not work, and had several young children. It was a loud complex and our neighbors were strange and nosey. The inside of our actual apartment was great except for the kitchen. The cabinets were from the 80s, they were falling off their hinges, the refrigerator and stove were ancient as well, and the floor had significant scratches and mold stains. It got very hot in the summer on the 3rd floor but stayed warm during the winter. Management and maintenance were great. Ann Marie takes a lot of pride in the pool and keeps it looking great all summer long. Homeless people often walked through the parking lot and when there was a gunshot fired, we decided it was time to move. There was always plenty of parking except during snowstorms when people took up more than one spot because it wasn't plowed. Pets were not allowed but several people had them and yet somehow we were constantly being blamed for a dog barking although it was the people below and diagonal from us. There is one laundry room but only a few washers and dryers so we always had to wait. The price was great and now that we can barely afford our rent at the new place, I wish we had stayed at Ashley Arms. All the negatives were worth it for our first apartment out of college.
