Good deal for the money...

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2003
Let me preface my review by saying that previos to living at Avalon we lived at the Windsor Ridge down the street. We couldn't get out of their fast enough. We are paying less here with more ammenities and a brand new apartment. The additional ammenities are well worth the cost of the apartment inluding a washer and dryer in the apartment, free access to a health club and free pool membership in the summer. We figure the free ammenities save us about an average of $120 per month. I don't think this is the best place for families that have kids age 5 and up (but, hey, what apartment community is') due to the fact that kids should be outside playing a lot and there are only a couple of playgrounds. If you are willing to go off property with the children, about a mile and a half down the road is Hopkinton State Park. Another plus is that they don't allow dogs. Don't get me wrong, I love dogs but I don't think an appartment community where the dog has to be locked inside or walked around the driveway on a lease is an appropriate place for them. Another plus is the gas stove the minus to go along with that is the gas oven. We have lived here for 7 months and will probably be here for another year or two until we can buy a house. The small things that we don't like are far outweighed by the price, ammenities and having a new apartment. Having lived in 5 other apartments previous to this one, I can without hesitation, recommend this community.
