A real review of this complex.

I have lived in a couple other complexes in the area, and this one is the best one I have lived in yet. It is the most expensive too, so it should be the best. So live here, it is fairly nice, and woburn is a great centrally located area to live. With that said there are problems with this place that when paying a lot, seem unacceptable, but aren't enough to not live here because everywhere else is worse. These problems arent the managements fault and they do do a good job at trying to satisfy any problems you have.

Parking: Parking is the biggest issue here. They built too many apartments for the size of land that there is, so everyone gets one spot with their rent. Pretty ridiculous to get one spot with a 2 bedroom apartment. So you are pretty much forced to get a carport at 40 bucks a month. Somebody said don't be cheap, but 600 dollars a year to park in woburn under a roof that doesn't keep the snow out is A LOT. But you just have to add the 40 to the cost of rent and ask is the price worth it to me. Also the spots are tiny. Probably the smallest they can be by law is my guess. If you have to park next to an SUV, there is not enough room to open your door. But you get used to it. Having assigned spots isn't fun either. If someone is in your spot there is nothing you can do, the vistor spots are all always taken (except for the really far away ones over on the other side of the complex) so having people over is a parking chore.

Apts: The apartments on the inside are again the nicest that I have seen anywhere in the suburbs of boston, but the build quality is definitly lacking. If I had a house built like this I wouldn't be happy. My bathroom door doesn't latch because the handle and the hole don't line up, a bedroom door doesn't stay open, it shuts half way by itself. The tub is slanted so water from the shower that lands on the upper edge drains to the floor versus into the tub. The crown molding has gaps in it. My roof leaked in a rain storm. The appliances are the cheapest ones you can buy, but that has been the case everywhere I have been, and at least these are new. I am sure if I complained about the above issues (I did about the leak) that management would have it all fixed, but those things aren't worth the hassle to get fixed.

Sound: The apartments are pretty sound proof. The exceptions are rude neighbors that use a lot of bass can be annoying, but not much you can do about that. Loud walkers or people running above you can be heard but again I have never not had this problem. The biggest problem are the front doors are not sound proof so do not live near the elevator unless you like to hear a lot of ding dings. And beep, beep.... And in the summer when windows are open the sound of the entry doors is annoying too. It would be awesome if they could get those sounds volume turned down to half what they are now.

Comments on other posts: I have yet to see a car towed. When someone parked in my spot (in my carport spot) the towing company said it would be four hours before they could get there so I said forget it. One guy even parks in a spot marked no parking every day and he has never been towed. THe heat/AC aren't the strongest in the world, but they do get the job done, it may take a little more time to heat or cool the place than it should. My windows/doors seal pretty good, so thats not a problem.

The survey: The meeting that they held to talk about the resident survey was during work hours. Most people can't take off work to have a meeting at their apt complex. It is true that management isn't great at informing the residents of rules and issues such as results of issues on the survery, that the pool was kept open later (I didn't know), what can and can't go into the trash compactor. What to do with big things that can't go into the compactor. I called the town of woburn and the director of public health and safety told me it is the apt complexes responsibilty to have a way to dispose of large items and the complex doesn't not have any way or if they do they haven't communicated it to us.

Management: They are however very nice people. Always help when it is asked for, but don't go the extra mile unless it is asked for. Definitly not the 5 star service advertised, but maybe 4.

Other: I was however pretty impressed with the snow removal, somebody even helped shovel my car out during the big storm. The pool and hot tub are great, might get crowded this year though.
