Good as any large complex

I lived here for a year before buying a condo. For the $1,550 I paid for the huge 2 bedroom apartment, it couldn't get much better. I loved the pool, BBQ grills, free gym, movie theater, management open on weekends, etc... The management was as good as any apartment complex management gets. They were oddly busy at times however, but most were professional and courteous. One of them made a wise remark to me once, and to this day I still wonder what she actually said...when I asked her what she said she went "NOTHING!!" and quickly changed the subject. When I first moved in, my neighbor (right behind my bed) played the most ridiculous, loudest music between 5:30 - 7:30am until he went to work. I complained several times and it got much better. I think the guy moved out because some idiot kids (like 4 or 5 of them) moved in and the police were there every weekend for noise complaints until they got kicked out (or moved out, not sure which one). Given the price, and the size of the complex, it's tough to beat. Most people are courteous as it is an older crowd, but there are exceptions in any large complex. I would recommend this place to any young professional who is quiet, and doesn't mind a little noise now and then. Still not sure what people are referring to by the "scrap metal yard" because I never heard anything...my unit faced the pool in building 55. They charge a fee for pets, but I never paid it or let them know that I had any, was never an issue, I only had 2 cats so didn't feel obligated to pay for them. I got my deposit back without any problems, even though I thought I trashed the place. There were mysterious stains that popped up on the carpets which weren't there when I moved in, but I swear I didn't make them. I had some things hung on the walls with double-sided tape which tore huge rips in the wall. Minor repairs I guess, but a lot of places would charge you for those kinds of things. There is a guy in the office who is as courteous and professional as they come. Other than my minor complains above, which were always corrected in a timely manner, is that people fly in and out of that parking lot like they're running from the police. Actually, there was one day where a police chase started at Alewife station, and ended with a black SUV ripping through the complex and being taken down by 20 cops. These things happen anywhere though, and is very rare to see anything like that around that area. My upstairs neighbor must have had kids, because some days there were people literally sprinting across the apartment back and forth for a good 3 hours at a time. Either way, if you have good neighbors, great!! If not, just file a complaint or two, and they'll address it quickly. On a scale of 1 - 10, I'd give this place an 8 just because of the minor complaints I have. Otherwise, without them I'd give it a 10 because the place is beautiful, apartments are huge, and ammenities are wonderful! 6TrHFn6pn7poyqNlKEgn
