The Good:


The grounds are kept up and it feels good to come home to a place that looks like this. We were the first to live in this apartment. My building has washers and dryers in the apartment. All my appliances are new. Huge balcony (we got lucky),great view from where we are. No noise or unsanitary issues to speak of other than with one neighbor (see below). Keyless entry to building and closed-circut cameras for security that you can monitor from your own tv. Trash chute on every floor. Lots of parking. Cheaper in-house cable and high-speed internet. Close to everything.


The Bad:


Management that doesn?t care, (During the winter, one of the maintenance workers/plow drivers hit one of our vehicles and wouldn?t admit it after we told the office). Also, it took two months for milk that someone spilled in one of the elevators to be cleaned. Incompetent maintenance workers. Bedrooms are small. The gym is a treadmill and unistation (pathetic). In-house cable and high-speed internet they offer doesn?t always work. No lights on the balcony. Don?t touch the walls w/anything, they only used one coat of cheap white paint and it turns black. Forget trying to find a bigger apartment if you do want to stay here (they are 98% full). 60 days notice to leave so no one else will even wait that long, you are basically stuck here. And last but definitely most important. One and only one of our neighbors is obnoxious. They are loud and their kids are even worse. I love children, but they are horrible. The other issue is smell. To make an example, we have ethnic people throughout our entire floor. And yes, some smells may be a little offensive, and I?m sure some of the other residents may feel the same about us. These smells all subside and the smell of the hallway returns neutral. That is until these neighbors moved in. The smell from this particular neighbor is ungodly. When you open your door to leave, you are accosted by the smell and immediately nauseated. I can?t open my windows or balcony door without lighting 10 candles, b/c the smell comes in that way too. There is no escaping it! We are entitled to fresh air too. As far as the hallway is concerned, it?s a community area. We shouldn?t have to hold our noses to make it to the elevator. We have complained numerous times and know for a fact that other neighbors have as well, but nothing has been done.
