Too expensive, no visitor's spaces

Overall, am not entirely unhappy here. I enjoy having a washer and dryer in my apartment. For a one bedroom, it is big enough. The bathroom is quite nice, and I've never had any personal issues with the management staff as others have reported here. My complaints, however, are as follows:
Don't plan on having anyone come to visit you because there are almost no visitor spaces, and there are signs up all over the place saying visitors not parked in a visitor's spot will be towed. Though I have never actually seen this happen, I don't doubt that they would. For residents, parking doesn't seem to be a problem unless you get back late at night. They should create more visitor's spaces if they are going to mandate that visitors park in them. In a building with 80 or so (') apartments, to have three visitor's spaces is a little ridiculous.
My latest complaint is the flyer sent out telling residents that the office will no longer be accepting package deliveries. For those of us who work all day, I guess that means we can no longer order anything online, since we will never be there to accept packages. I am not sure what we are supposed to do about this. I was considering renewing my lease, but because of this I will be finding someplace that provides a little more value for the money I spend.
I know that apartments in the metro-Boston area are expensive, but these seem way overpriced for what you get. If electricity was included, I would think it was a much better value, but it is not.
Over the past several months I have seen an increase in the number of insects crawling around. I suppose some bugs are to be expected, but these little light brownish bugs with about 30 legs are crawling around everywhere. They are fast too, so they are hard to kill.
If you have an issue that needs maintenance's attention, do not leave a message! They will never fix it or get back to you. Make sure you speak to one of the staff who enters it into their list.
Overall I have found the residents themselves to be fairly resepctful, with the exception of some people who leave random furniture and things they are getting rid of in the trash room, instead of walking to the dumpster.
I am not sure why, but it seems as though I see at least one fire truck, ambulance, and/or police car every day. Maybe it's just that I have never lived in such a large apartment complex, but every day' And it's not like I'm looking out the window or driving by all the time, so I am sure I miss some.
All in all, I would suggest looking around a bit more. Unfortunately I moved here from another state, so I didn't have time for this. But I am sure that there are comparable apartments that are cheaper, or at least places that provide more value for the same amount of money.

You are clearly biased as you stated you are the wife of one of the maintenance men. While I empathize with you not seeing your husband as often as you want, I am going to venture a guess that you probably have your rent subsidized to an extent as your husband works for the property, most of us don't have that privilege, so we won't be nearly as accepting of having only one maintenance man on call at time to service over 200 apartments. The mgmt is clearly trying to save every penny they can, even if it's to the detriment of families and tenants.

Your and ------- your so full of ----, there is visitor parking all along the shop area, by the towers, there all over the place.
Maitenance does respond it might not be right when you want them to respond but they do come, its winter they have had frozen pipes and snowstorms that they have had to deal with like you said there are 9 buildings , which two (the Towers) are 10 stories high that 6 guys have to take care of. When they are on call its only one guy a week doing 9 buildings if something goes wrong most of the time with no help they are there fixing it, if they can't fix it they call someone out. I am one of the Maitenance guys wife who might not see my husband for hours when he is on call, or during a snow storm so don't ever say they are useless as you said in your own way, they are the hardest working guys I have ever meet, they work hard for you people and some of you don't even deserve it.
As for the Ambulances , and/or police car no its not everyday they come out somedays its more then others , you live in a huge complex ya your going to see them people get sick or hurt when there alot of people you see it, its no different then any other place you will ever live.

Yeah the office staff are the most lazy people i've every seen.....All they do is stand outside smoking cigarretts, expecially the manager...You have to call a maintenance problem atleast 3 times for them to come out.

The snow removal is terrible, which makes it difficult to find any parking spot if you get home later from work. Even two days after a storm, there's no "follow-up cleanup" for spaces.
...............That "no space to continue to accept packages at the office" notice you mentioned spoke volumes as to management's attitude toward the residents. They have hundreds of thousands of square footage on this property, and to claim that they can't make space to accept packages really says something.

Can anyone tell me from experience how the noise level is ABOVE you? Right now I live in an apartment with very thin walls and it is unbearable. Thanks.

The noise level is probably about normal for an apartment building. In my apaprtment, I can hear banging sometimes, and there must be at least one child because I tend to hear someone running around a lot. Sometimes, you can hear appliances being used, such as the garbage disposal. I would actually say that my former next-door neighbor was worse, because in some of these apartments, there are surround sound speakers, and sometimes people are not respectful with them. So, overall I would say that the noise level is generally not unbearable, depending on who you live near. The walls are not as soundproof as they could be, but aren't completely thin either.

We must have lived in the same building. Everyday my wife and I would call about those bugs, and everyday all they would do is vaccum them up. The next day they would be back. None of the management made the connection that they were all flocking to the trash compactor room.
All and all, this place is basically a nightmare. The people are not respectful in the least bit. There was an abandoned car in the building 4 parking lot for about 4 months. People never throw away their junk mail, they just throw it on the floor in the hallway.
Management is horrible, we got in a big dispute with them regarding our lease. We fought with them for 3 weeks, they threatened to kick us out, so I sought the counsel of a lawyer who agreed with my argument. Finally I got a meeting with the Assistant Manager who finally admitted that she had given us an out of date lease agreement. The lease was therefore void, thank god.
So far I have been out of Kimball for a month, and have not received the security deposit back, even though it says in the lease we will receive it within 30 days. They will be hearing from me again.
