Look else where, this place is not for you.

To anyone searching for a place to live, I strongly recommend you not consider Pheasant ridge.
I decided to move into Pheasant ridge a little over a year ago because of its closeness to my workplace. Not having a hellish commute in the mornings is important to me, along with having a place to live that is clean, quiet, and safe. Well, I got myself an easy commute but unfortunately, I did NOT get a place that is clean, quiet, or entirely safe.
Things that I have come to really dislike about Pheasant Ridge:
1. Neither the owner nor the management of the complex seems to care about the happiness of the tenants and requests and/or complaints are frequently ignored.
2. Each building has only two washing machines and two driers, which are shared amongst way too many people. All too often, these machines are out of order and you will be out of luck if you want to put a wash in.
3. For some reason (bad insulation, bad heater, who knows), my apartment is always excessively hot. I had my windows open all during the winter just to keep it livable, and the summer has been just plain unbearable. I have complained many times, but nothing has been done and I doubt that anything ever will.
4. During most thunderstorms, the alarm in one of the buildings goes off, bringing the local fire department onsite to mill around waiting for maintenance to show up so they can shut the alarm off. The reason the alarm goes off is the rather large array of antennae on its roof acts a lightning rod. The antenna is used for the apartment owner's cable and internet access service that they are perpetually trying to push on the tenants. Guess there is more then one way to squeeze that last dime out of the tenants.
5. The complex has a pool but after trying to use it a few times, I will not even bother going down there again. There is no lock or swipe card on the pool gate, so pretty much every one in the entire neighborhood wanders over to the pool when the feel like it. The result is that pool is overly crowded with people that do not even live there and who are often loud and offensive, making it wholly unpleasant to make use of the pool.
6. The ventilation in both my apartment and the building itself is horrible, and there is constant stink of cigarette smoke mixed with god knows what else lingering in the hallways as well as making its way into the apartment.
My last comments are more on the subjective side, but in general, the overall attitude of this place seems to have worsened over the past several months. Some examples of this are:
1. People lurking/milling around in the parking lot at all hours of the night.
2. People just dumping their garbage in the washroom or hallways.
3. People abusing public facilities
4. People arguing and shouting on their balconies.
5. Random people wandering through apartment patios and other private areas at all hours.
6. People sitting or loitering around other people's vehicles (my own for example) in the parking lot all too frequently.
7. People driving up in moving trucks at 11 at night and moving in.
8. Way too many cars in the parking lot when I come home in the afternoon for lunch. I generally come home later in the afternoon well past the typical lunch hour so there is just no excuse for there to be that many cars in the lot on a regular basis. Don't these people have jobs' Unfortunately, I think that good number of them do not.
In short, I would currently describe Pheasant ridge as a little bit of the ghetto meets the trailer park, and it is getting worse by the day. So, if you are looking for a decent, working class neighborhood that is quiet, clean and safe then you should keep looking because Pheasant ridge definitely does not fit the bill.
