I currently live at Pheasant Ridge and have just a couple of complaints, but I will first touch on the higher points.
The landlord and maintenance folks are very quick to respond and always very friendly. We had a problem with our dishwasher and they replaced it with a newer model in less than one week's time! During these heavy snowstorms, the plowers have been out out clearing the parking lot and sanding the steps to ensure proper safety. I've never had problems with noise - the walls are so thick that my only complaint regarding that is there is no cell phone reception inside our apartment (we have Verizon).
One concern, however, is we've had some problems with allergies since we moved in and think it may be due to poor air quality due to the very dry heat inside the building. Our last apartment had all hardwood floors so it may be an issue of getting used to an increase in dust mites due to having carpet.
I agree with many other reviewers who say the building gets really hot (almost unbearably so) throughout the year. We often have to crack our window open in the dead of winter to help circulate the air or even run the air conditioning! I like being warm, though, so I can't really complain about having a warm place to live.
My biggest concern is an issue we have with our bathroom. The bathroom is in need of a serious renovation, with tile that has probably been there for the last 30 years (1970s style). When we first moved in, I continuously bleached/mopped the bathroom tile, but can't get rid of the scent of urine (I think the only way to get rid of it would be to replace the old tile). There are tiny ants that come up under the cracked tile and I think they may live in the walls. We finally bought some bug spray and use that approximately twice a month on the bathroom tile and the problem has since been alleviated. But that explains why there were "Ant Away" traps in the laundry room and in the kitchen during our initial tour of the place.
All in all, you can't beat the location and it works fine for anyone on a budget.
