Pros:
-Secured entrance; you need an electronic device to get into the building (but people just tailgate in, so it's not very effective)
-Security guards in the main lobby
-Convenient store on the terrace level of the building (but way overpriced)
-Close to Bestway, Rite Aid, Popeyes, and Bank of America
-Close to I-495
-The UM shuttle and Metro bus stops directly in front of the complex
-The apts are spacious- a 2 BR is approximately 1000 sq feet
-Trash chutes on every floor
Cons:
-Huge rodent infestation. I haven't experienced any roaches, but I have family of mice living behind my stove. I spent over $40 buying traps and have them scattered all over my kitchen, but the mice are just too damn smart. Every morning, I enter the kitchen to see a collection of mice droppings all over my counter and stovetop. It's not a pleasant sight.
-Not a safe area. Neighbors are disrespectful and will yell/blare music at 2 in the morning. Cars get broken into all the time due to the poorly lighted parking lot. As a female college student, I feel very uneasy getting into the elevator because some of the residents are extremely perverse. Speaking of the elevator, it always smells like some sort of drug.
-Poor insulation. It is freezing during the winter and hot during the summer. The windows are thin and rattle in the slightest breeze.
-So far, the complex does not have air conditioning. According to the manager, it is the law for the air conditioning system to be on by May 15th- it's already May 18th and they have no idea when it will be on. A week ago, the temperature in the complex was over 90 degrees, and I could not sleep for days.
-Expect water shutoffs approximately every 2-3 weeks where the water will be off from 10:30-4:30pm
-In the winter, the complex had a dysfunctional heater for about 2 weeks. Those 2 weeks were in February, the coldest month of the year, and it was hell. Expect the heater and ac to be on and off constantly.
-The hallways reek of funky smells. There are carpet odors/stains and torn wallpapers. It's just not very aesthetic. Oh, and the main hallway has a huge hole in the ceiling that is being closed off with TAPE. The ceiling looks like it could cave through at any minute and it's being held together with tape... a huge safety concern.
-They had a pool, but decided to close it this summer to save money without consulting the residents. How gracious'
In summation, the cons clearly outweigh the pros. I do not recommend this place and I cannot wait until my lease expires.

I just found out about the pool myself today. But whatever reason management said the pool won't open is BS. The board got together and decided to do that b/c people are not paying their condo fees. But after the algae that closed the pool for 3 weeks last summer, me and my kids were not going to the pool this summer anyway. A lot of bad stuff has happened here since I wrote my review but people are slowly starting to see that this is a fu*ked up place to have to live, especially with your kids.

I just found out today that the AC will not be on until 2-3 weeks later. I sincerely hope that the weather will not get too unbearable within that time frame...
