I moved here because I was at UMD and had never had an apartment before. I was sorely disappointed. Things went from bad to worse during the three years I lived here- I couldn't control the roaches, I couldn't walk out of my door without being harassed, gangs started tagging the buildings on my block. Every weekend the noise from the neighbors woke me up. I couldn't keep the place cool in summer. The management company started making mistakes- they claimed I owed them money when I did not and then claimed that they had already contacted me to pay it when they had not. The rents increased much faster than the market rate. Once I graduated I got out, and am now *much* happier in a much smaller apartment.
University Gardens markets to students, trying to play up their proximity to campus. Don't be decieved- this is not student housing. No one lives here for long unless they have no other choice.
