If anyone has ever seen the movie Joe's Apartment then you know what I'm referring to! The aprtment itself was extremely small and aesthetically unpleasing. I moved into this scummy, and roach infested hell whole, and it was by far the worst experience of my life. I came from out of town to attend the University of MD and on the second day of my lease I informed mngmt that I would be leaving. To add insult to injury, my car was vandalized in a theft attempt. The building was supposed to be secure, but it wasn't, the lobby door was left open all night, every night! Roaches were EVERYWHERE!! In the bathroom, bedroom, kitchen and no matter what I used, they wouldn't go away. I even watched roaches crawl into my apartment from the hallway. Cooking was an impossible task because the one time I did, the roaches literally swarmed the apartment, they came out from everywhere!! The other apartments are so close to one another, as soon as you open your door, the neighbors can see your entire place. The building itself had an extremely foul odor, and was never cleaned during the one month I stayed there. The only view I had was of the liquor store on Riggs Rd, which was a constant area of drug activity and drunken melees. I was too afraid to even attempt to use the so-called laundry facility. It was a concrete floor, with two antiquated machines, and I was told there were mice, but I never used it, and therefore never saw them myself. I had to wash the refrigerator before I used it and there was a sour smell coming from it all the time. Children were constantly making noise outside, all day and night, while their parents didn't seem to work at all. Please, don't rent from this place, I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy! Upon my leaving I advised management that they should be PAYING people to live there, and not the other way around. Thank God I got out alive!!
