The lower rent is not worth it. The apartments are old, the paint is chipped and peeling in spots. The walls are thin - you can hear your neighbors' every move and almost every word not to mention other stuff. The laundry rooms are used by the homeless and the drug dealers - drug dealers sell their stuff in the open and they won't even move out of the way for you to pass on the sidewalk. The prostitutes come out at dusk and the sound of gunfire is common at night. Loud drunken parties are common, even if you call the police, the party starts up again after they leave.

It wasn't "that" bad when I moved in and I stayed so long because the rent was so low...but you can only compromise so much.

The leasing staff are horrible, they will tell you anything you want to hear, but will not follow up. The male neighbors think nothing of verbally harrassing young women who walk by and sitting outside, shirtless, guzzling beers and then leaving the beer bottles strewn every where. There is broken glass in the playground...

I could go on and on...just keep looking. Your life is worth more than this...

So what are you doing here for over 6 years. Did you not get enough, or are you waiting for more.
