I've been living in UG since June 07. After a week, I have experienced the problems with the bed bugs. At the time, I thought maybe it was fleas. I spent a lot of money on bug sprays and I still can't get rid of them. There is a lot of noise. I live downstairs and the people upstairs are always playing loud music, arguing, and slamming doors all through the night. It sounds like they are moving furniture at least every other day. As for roaches, I see two or three a week. I haven't seen any mice and hopefully it stays that way. I haven't had any problems with maintenance. I have only had to call them two times and they came the next day. As for crime, I haven't had anybody do anything to me nor have I seen anything. I did have a tire on my car slashed a month after moving in. And somebody stole the rug off my stoop. I have heard gunshots at night. This was three weeks ago. My utilities are high. My electric was high at first, especially during the summer. Now, it stays around $20 a month. As for my gas, it's always high. Why' I don't know. I rarely use my stove, maybe twice a week. My gas bill is always $70 plus a month. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this place, but if you can't find better, then it's up to you decide if you want to move here. The only reason I did was because they didn't do credit checks. I don't regret moving here (yet),but I would prefer someplace else that didn't have bed bugs. They are really bad here.

I wish my husband read your review b4 he moves in here last year.. for 2months we try to figure out .. why we have a rash and what we think were moskitos bite... ----bedbugs---- i cant wait to leave this place.

I'm the one who wrote this post. I finally left after living there for 15 months. The bed bugs and the roaches got to be too much! The roaches weren't bad at first like I mentioned, but it got ridiculous a few months later. It was so bad, I seen them calling in the hole that holds the chain to lock the door. It was just awful. I hope you and your husband got out.
