GROSS! I cant believe the way this place is. When I first moved in I didnt think it was to bad, until the roaches came out. I see at least 6 - 10 of them a day, and then in the recent months the bed bug problem has came. We have packed up all of our stuff to have them come and spray for bed bugs, only for a few days to go by and the horrible itchy bites to return. The bath tub came be cleaned until your blue in the face, and it still looks disgusting. The counter in the kitchen is literally peeling off around the sink, and the carpets are just nasty.
We hear at least 2 gunshots a month, it scared me at first, but now I barley realize it when it happens. The neighbors have no consideration for anyone, and will blast their music so loud, not to mention the paper thin walls, and they will do it well passed midnight. The kids in the neighborhood run wild, being extremely loud, and none of their parents tell them to keep it down.
I cant take the trash out or walk to my car without being starred at and getting some cat call or eye wink, and it disgust me to no end. Basically all in all, DONT LIVE HERE!! October cannot come any faster, so I can LEAVE! g-hKOS7s4Nq5n3hEIpHd

Go directly to Lourdes, the property manager, and ask to be let out of your lease. After repeatedly sending written complaints, a face-to-face meeting was what got them to let me go without penalty. Don't take no for an answer. I am covered in scars on my arms from the bed bugs, and actually lost my job because of that.

I am so sorry that this has happened to you as well. I am the Comment from a 6 year resident. lived at Hell's Gardens from 2001 - 2008 and know exactly what you were going through. Although it never hit me before Anonymous who left you a message makes a good point about going to Lourdes to get out of the lease. The bed bugs aren't going anywhere because the complex is infested! I lost EVERYTHING - Living room, dining room, my bedroom and the kids' bedroom because of this. I'm talking coaches, dressers, Armoires, etc. I had to live out of bags because I couldn't leave anything unprotected for fear of the bed bugs getting in. Good luck to you and please let me know if there's anything I can do to help. I feel your pain.

I lived in University Gardens (now Campus Gardens) back in 2005 and I see it still hasn't changed even though they've renovated some units and included a "security gate." I hated living at Campus Gardens but at that time I was a poor grad student looking for a quick fix. There were 6 or so people squatting in the apartment above mine. They were loud and ignorant and only spoke Spanish, which made it extremely hard to communicate with them about the noise. On a few occasions, I had to call the PG County non-emergency line to get cops out to shut their loud parties down. Even though this community caters to students, this is NOT the place for students. Walking to the bus stop was a hassle as I would routinely walk by the same strange men at the corner who instead of going to work in the mornings would loiter/harass the people walking by. Mid-lease my apartment was up for renovation and the complex asked me to either move to another place or to another one bedroom in the complex. I told them I'd rather slit my wrists than to stay there. I moved out and that was the best thing I could do for myself. The other comments about crickets, roaches, and mice are dead on. Save yourself the headache and don't move in here!
