Best in Annapolis, but still an apartment

I have stayed in a lot of rentals over the years and I would have to rate 1901 West as one of the best.
However, it is an apartment, which means you are going to have people piling into apartments and splitting rent.
However, I have to say that the one time there was a party 2 flights down that I was able to successfully register a complaint the next day- a Sunday.
The manager wrote and delivered a warning letter to the tenant and I have had NO trouble from them since.
If they have another party after 10 PM they are gone.
It is a 2 strikes policy here.
I was surprised to hear complaints about noise from the hot water heater, dishwasher, and washer/dryer.
Yes.
They all make noise, but I look at it as cover-up for all of the door slam noise from the tenants.
That being said, the tenants generally respect the 10 PM to 8 AM curfew with regards to noise.
Also, my expectations for quiet are unreasonable for an apartment as I am old and should not be renting at my age.
In the aggregate, this place is as quiet as a museum ninety percent of the time.
People DO leave trash out in front of their apartments, which brings to mind a slew of Jeff Foxworthy jokes.
Again, this is an apartment complex.
I have had good luck with my washer and dryer.
The only time the dryer has failed to dry is when I accidentally toggled on the humidity sensor.
I have seen performance degradation in both units but nothing substantial.
The dishwasher fails to dry sufficiently, even with a heated dry option and rinse aids.
Construction is OK, but fit and finish are like that in any production housing.
Some of the components are sub par in my opinion, but everything is in working order.
This location requires a car to get groceries or downtown.
The immediate neighborhood is passable during the day but I would not venture out after dark without Kevlar.
I think the office staff is nice.
They are better than what I have seen elsewhere.
The maintenance staff was useless to me.
As for prep work, when I moved in the apartment was only partially cleaned.
I am in the 1911 Westbridge building, so perhaps I have it better than some of the folks in the other buildings here.
Before you sign on the dotted line, understand that there is no fixed fee for terminating your lease early.
You are subject to marketing fees, apartment preparation fees, and some sort of rent penalty in addition to the rent due until the apartment is leased by someone else.
I have about 2 months to go and will not be renewing.
I'm just too old to be renting and I was taken in by the eye candy like so many others.
The surrounding neighborhood includes a Pep Boys and a food supply company, so it is a bit noisy.
The trucks at Annapolis Produce and Restaurant Supply, inc., start up pretty early in the morning.
Keep in mind that Anne Arundel is ostensibly a blue collar county.
That culture tends to be noisier than its counterpart, so the tenants in the building and the residents in the area immediately surrounding the area will behave accordingly.

You have clearly just moved in. Just wait until the problems start to pile up.

I have a EuroTech washer and dryer. The dry is the horrible as it takes 2 or 3 cycles to completely dry a load. My work clothes get too wrinkled to iron out so now I let them hang dry.
I keep a hand towel to dry my dishes when they are done. Sometimes the dish washer will do a dry run so it requires doing it again.
